Here’s a new video for you – last year I was given the oh-so-rare opportunity to play alongside a backing band of utterly stellar musicians at Distant Voices (an event co-run by Vox Liminis and the University of Glasgow) to showcase songs written by Scottish prisoners and others involved in the criminal justice system.
Here’s an out-take from our rehearsal for the gig. It’s a song called ‘Partick Station’ which was co-written by Colleen Souness and I at Vox’s Tuesday night music-making group. If you made it to either of my recent house concerts you’ll have heard us playing this as the encore 🙂
The performance is pretty rough around the edges (I burst out laughing and fluff some lyrics at one point) and it’s pretty shakily shot on my phone (which is precariously balanced on the mixing desk), but that’s what I love about it – enjoy!
Recorded at Berkeley 2 Studios in Glasgow.
Musicians:
Louis Abbott
Richy Carey
Lucy Cathcart Frödén
Tim Davidson
Thomas Gibbs
Andrew Howie
